Finding the Keyword Rich Domain for Your Blog/Site

Posted by: admin  /  Category: Ideas & Tips

Everyone has heard of SEO for websites and blogs, but did you know you could help your sites and blogs by having a keyword rich domain?  For example, when a person goes to search the internet for dog training, they might type into their browser “InternetDogTrainingTips.com”.  Did they do a search?  No!  They just typed their keywords into the browser!  So, if you happened to be the guy/girl that owned this domain, bam!  They are at your site and you did nothing to get them there!  Here is how you find a domain loaded with keywords:

1.  First of all, let’s be sure that you know that .com is the best extension you can have for your domain.  I wouldn’t go with .net, .org or any other option.  (If you can’t find a .com, chances are the niche you are after is pretty saturated already.  Not saying there isn’t room for you…if you have a good product!)

2.  Now let’s find some keywords.  You’ll need to pull up a keyword tool, such as WordTracker.  (It’s free and I like it’s results!)  So here, you’ll enter your niche market.  I’m using smoking as an example.  I get a huge list of results and the number of searches done on each one for the past 365 days.

3.  In a different window or tab, open GoDaddy.  What you’ll want to do is type each relative keyword chain in GoDaddy’s bulk domain window.  Here is a link: Search Bulk For example, I see “stop smoking”, “effects of smoking”, and “why is smoking bad for you” in the Keyword tool.  So, in the GoDaddy bulk domain box, I type: stopsmoking, effectsofsmoking, and whyissmokingbadforyou.

4.  After you’ve entered many possible domain names, hit the search button.  What it will come back are the domains that are available.  And lookie there, whyissmokingbadforyou.com is available!

I know you might be thinking that the domain is long…but, and this is a big but…it is rich of keywords!  Now, anyone who types in “whyissmokingbadforyou.com” will get your page!  No advertising, nada!

Blog Post Writing – Uncover 5 Nifty Guidelines For Beginners

Posted by: admin  /  Category: Ideas & Tips
1. Be very wise when choosing your topics. Make sure that they’re aligned to the theme of your blog and that they’re very interesting to your target audience. As much as possible, explore those topics that were not yet discussed by other bloggers so you can offer your readers with fresh, new information.2. Showcase your expertise. Get these people to trust you by showing off how deep your knowledge is in your niche. Instead of giving them general information, load up your blog posts with in-depth, solid information and insider tips.

3. Be friendly. The best way to get your readers to like you is to write your blog posts in a very friendly manner. Use conversational tone, empathize when needed, and make your readers laugh by inserting humor from time to time. Also, show genuine concern. Convince your readers that you’re willing to go to great lengths to give them everything that they’re looking for. If you do this, your readers will surely come back over and over again.

4. Encourage your readers to leave feedback. People in general simply love it when they feel that their ideas and opinions are valued. Make your readers feel that you’re interested to know what they think about your posts. Ask them to leave their feedback and acknowledge these feedbacks as soon as possible.

5. Make your blog posts scannable. Online users are “scanners.” Meaning, they really don’t read anything online word for word. Help them out by making your blog posts easy to skim through. They must contain short paragraphs and subheadings.

Finding a Popular Niche

Posted by: admin  /  Category: Ideas & Tips

Everyone wants to find a popular niche to base their sites around…something that is highly searched.  Highly searched means better chances for high traffic to your site.  Course, we all know, high traffic means more money!  But exactly how can you find a niche that is is highly searched?  Below, I’ll outline a couple of resources, their pros/cons and links to where you can find these tools.

Using Keyword Research Tools

Pros: When you type in a word, it will show you how many times that word was searched as well as give you similar words and how often they were searched.  For example, say you were searching for “Dog Training”.  It will also give you “Dog Training Ideas”, “Dog Training Tips” and so on.  Also is very easy to use.

Cons: You have to come up with the “seed” word.  It will not suggest popular words.

Top Keyword Reports

Pros:  With this, you have to do no guessing or providing your own “seed” word.  You’ll get a report that details the top searched terms and how many searches were done for that term.  Often times, other services come with the reports.

Cons: Ya can’t expect a tool  as awesome as this to be free…and it’s not.

Using eBay

Pros: FREE!

Cons:  It’s easy to get side tracked using this tool as one thing leads to another, to another and so on.

Checking the Freelance Boards

Pros: By browsing the freelance job boards, you can see what kind of SEO articles others are wanting to be created.  Obviously, the wouldn’t be paying a writer to write articles for them if the keywords weren’t paying off.

Cons:  Be catious with this as there are times where people are “sure” that a certain keyword is going to be the next big thing and swarm for articles and then nothing comes of it.

Buying and Selling Domains

Posted by: admin  /  Category: Business Ideas

Buying and selling domains has interested me since I read an article about a guy that purchased a domain and sold the domain for 150K!  Sounded like pretty easy money, so I started researching the subject.  Here are a couple of useful tool and ideas that I have discovered:

1.  justdropped.com – this website is great for searching for domain names that, you guessed it, just dropped.  I found that it’s great for looking for a domain that contains certain words.  For example, I needed a name for a website about dogs…so I searched for dropped domains that had the word “dog” in it.

Also, there are tools built into the search that allows you to see if there are any links to the certain domain and to view the Alexa ranking.

This site is free but you do have to register to use it.

2.  GoDaddy domain auctions – Like to bid on an domain?  Sometimes you can find a few with some good traffic for pretty cheap prices on the auctions.

You have to register and the price is $4 to become a bidder.

3.  alexa.com/siteinfo – Look up a domain in this site and you can see the traffic details as well as what are the most common keywords used to find the domain.

This site is free and you do not have to register.

4.  archive.org/web/web.php – This is also known as the Wayback Machine.  It will show you what pages were displayed on that certain domain for several years back.  How is this beneficial?  If you are looking for a domain to draw in traffic of a specific kind, it’s always good to see what the domain was used for previously.  You don’t want to buy a credit domain and find the traffic used to be for a porn site!

This is also a free site that you don’t have to register to use.

As I gather more tips/ideas, I’ll be posting them here.  Also, if you have any tips or ideas on buying and selling domains, please feel free to post and share the knowledge!
